Board of Nursing Substance Abuse Evaluations
Dr. Ward is contracted with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing to provide comprehensive psychological evaluations for nurses who have been identified as possibly having a substance abuse disorder and/or mental illness. Dr. Ward meets with the nurse, administers several psychological tests, obtains collateral information from employers and spouses, and ultimately renders an opinion on whether the nurse is impaired and incapable of nursing practice. If impairments are detected, Dr. Ward identifies what treatments are necessary for rehabilitation and a return to safe nursing practice.
